MAKE: FERNANDES
MODEL: Retro Rocekt Pro (Customized)
VINTAGE: 2009
FINISH: Black w/white pearloid pickguard
NOTES:
While appearing to be an Retro Rocket Elite (at first glance)
due to the Duncan "Hot Rail" pickups but it seems more likely that it is a modified Retro Rocket Pro.
The evidence?
- The PRO has a bolt-on neck. Post 2007 Retro Rocket's have set necks. Edge's appears to
be a bolt-on neck; like the PRO
- The ELITE has a black triangle truss rod cover (featured on the
Elite and Pro RetroRockets - those that have set necks). Edge's (PRO) doesn't have the black truss rod cover.
- The ELITE doesn't have a string tree on the headstock. The PRO
(and The Edge's) does have a string tree.
- The Elite has Wilkinson Tremolo. The Pro (and the one Edge
is playing) has the Synchronized Tremolo.
- The ELITE has HOT RAIL pickups. The PRO has Sustainer, Vintage
Single Coil and Hi-Output Humbucker. This is where it appears that The Edge has had a PRO customized, in that The Edge's DOES
have HOT RAILS.
- The PRO has two knobs, (1) Volume, (1) tone. Edge's guitar has
three knobs but this is as he's the sustainer and HOT RAILS, once again suggesting a modified / customized PRO.
VERDICT: It appears that the guitar has far more
PRO appointments / characteristics than an ELITE. Other than the HOT RAILS, and EDGE's guitar looks like a PRO. In that,
I am guessing that Dallas called Fernandes and had them make a PRO and customize it with the HOT RAIL pickups.
