BONO STAGE-PLAYED GUITAR

thumb-395f.jpg

Gretsch Falcon guitar with Bigsby tailpiece, serial number 925593B35, laminated maple, ebony fretboard played by Bono on stage, signed with a Bono drawing on the pick guard. Accompanied by photographs of Bono playing the guitar guitar strap and a DVD of Bono playing the guitar.

Bono performed on May 27, 2003 at the Pavarotti and Friends charity concert in Modena, Italy. Pavarotti and Friends benefitted many United Nations causes. For this particular concert Bono had brought his own guitar but it was blown off it's stand in rehearsals and a replacement needed to be found. A search of the small town of Modena, Italy found this Falcon Gretcshguitar in a used guitar shop. With it, Bono performed "One", which can be seen on You Tube. At this concert, he also performed "Ave Maria" with the lyrics slightly altered by Bono to reflect the on-going situation in the Middle East. After the concert, Bono signed the guitar with a doodle believed to be Bono playing guitar, and returned it to the owner.
